Native Plant Propagation Workshop

Learn how to produce your own native plants from seed, cuttings, and divisions.

All materials will be provided.

Date: Saturday October 19, 2024

Time: 1pm – 3 pm

Location: Tule River Parkway, Porterville CA Jaye Street Parking Lot

Registration: Contact Cathy Capone 559 361 9164. Limited to 20 participants.

The workshop is free of charge to California Native Plant Society members, but you can join for 40% off ($30) here:

Recommendations – Wear layered clothes, sun protection, and sturdy shoes. Bring a folding chair, a clean pint to quart size glass jar for cuttings, and a small to medium box to carry home your workshop plants. There are no restrooms at the gardens.  Parkway path is ADA accessible as is the workshop area.  We will work with plants that are easy to propagate and mention advanced propagation techniques.

  2. California Wildrose,                     Rosa californica

  3. Sages various,                             Salvia various species

  4. Desert Willow,                            Chilopsis linearis

  5. Coyote Mint,                               Monardella villosa

Division-

  1. Bee's Bliss Sage,                        Salvia 'Bee's Bliss'

  2. Mugwort,                                   Artemisia douglasiana

  3. California Fuchsia,                      Epilobium various
